This is the scarce Rarity 7 variety Cr.#149B1 with serial numbers at the left of signature. Printed by J.T. Paterson & Co. Augusta, GA. Texas Refugio $2.00 Refugio County 1863 PMG Very Fine 25 - Refugio, Texas - Refugio County - 1863 Serial # 80 - Unlisted in the Medlar book. But I would guess it is a Rarity 7 with 1-5 surviving population. In a recent Heritage auction 1/22 they state they knew of only one $2.00 notes from Refugio. The one offered PMG VF 30 serial #96 sold for $3360.00 - Small size note Approx. 2" X 4-3/4". Refugio County Warrant - Will pay the bearer $2.00 in Confederate Notes - "Rare note" |

Texas Richmond $5.00 Fort Bend County 1863 - Medlar 6 PMG Very Fine 20 Net - Richmond Texas, Fort Bend County - 1863 Serial # 21 - Medlar 6 Rarity 7 with 1-5 surviving population - Small size note Approx. 2-1/2" X 5-1/4" - Net grade VF 20 and noted on the back Previously Mounted, Tear. On top border above the 5 there is a pin hole and a 1/4" tear. "Rare note". PMG was asleep the day they graded this note they were in the right state but wrong county. |
