PMG Very Fine 15 - H-18 Smith/Houston Serial # 1071 Canceled. May 1st 1838 - Original note with very nice paper and ink quality for the grade. No tears, stains or repairs. This note has a wagon wheel cut cancel not the usual X cuts. Only one section is missing from the wagon wheel cancel which is also unusual. "Sam Houston as President". Minerva standing at left with spear and shield with 6 pointed star at center. Liberty seated at right holding spear and shield. The Capitol of the Republic of Texas was in Houston April 19, 1837 to January 18, 1840.
